Abstract

This is a special issue which draws on selected papers from the IPMN Conference held in Paris in 2019

Professor Masou was the convenor of this conference and is the editor  for this special issue

Author Biography

Roula Masou, ESSCA Paris

Dr. Roula MASOU is an Associate Professor at ESSCA; she is the head of a Master’s degree entitled “Fundamentals of Management”. Dr. Masou’s PhD topic was “Performance analysis of the managerial reforms in France: the case of the LOLF” which was defended at Paris-Est University in 2011. Her current research interests are primarily focused on performance management, in particular how managerial reforms affect the performance of public administration. She is also interested in non-permanent employees in the public sector and organizational social responsibility. 

She has had significant international experiences, such as her collaboration with the Institut de Hautes Etudes en Administration Publique (IDHEAP) in 2009 in Lausanne, Switzerland, and with the international organization of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Financial Institutions (A.A.O.I.F.I), in 2004 and 2006 in Bahrain.

She was recently in Australia as a visiting professor to Deakin University where she has started two research projects with her Australian peers.

She has given many research seminars in international universities, such as Georgetown University in Washington DC, USA, and Shanghai University, China, both in 2017 and more recently at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore in June of 2018.

In terms of teaching, Dr. Masou covers two main areas: Financial Management and Human Resources Management. She has taught in many national and international universities such as Paris Descartes University (Sorbonne city), Paris-Est University and Aleppo University.

Before joining ESSCA in 2016, she worked as a lecturer at Paris Descartes University (Sorbonne city) and Angers University. Prior to that, she worked as a vice academic director at ESIPE faculty (UPEM, Paris-Est University) for four years. She had also worked before as a financial director for Keichour International Transport & Trading for three years.

In 2019, Roula Masou has been president of the organizing  committee of the 23rd IPMN Conference that took place on 18-19th of July at ESSCA Campus in Paris.
